Election Day

I was thinking about this as I was riding my bike to work...
Real change is voting for someone not Republican or Democrat. Voting for either of these parties is only a return to politics as usual, not change.

i think politics in this country can be boiled down to the rich and the poor. democrat or republican they are both run and backed with more money than we (the poor) can possibly imagine. The Dems do "think" about the poor a bit more in their decision making process but in the end it is the big corporations, oil companies and land owners that are kept happy and wealthy. Average Americans are so caught up in working hard to make the money to buy those jet skis, purchase a home they can't afford or the latest model of automobile that they just don't realize this. this is how it always was and how it will always be until there are some major fundamental changes in the thought processes of the majority of america. only then will there be true change worth voting for.
2 party politics = oppression

for the time being, however, this country has made a huge step in the right direction this past election and all we can hope is that more people have these same thoughts and are willing to act upon those thoughts and use the excitement of this political shift to become more active and productive locally, within their community. without a full on revolution we will have to rejoice and make the most of the baby steps.

I agree completely. I am not displeased with the outcome of the election, but think that this is only the first step in greater needed change.
